DC — Wine Tasting 101 with David Hudock

May 19 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

This monthly class, held on Sundays, is an opportunity for an entry-level, hands-on wine tasting experience. We will identify the characteristics of wines tasted and review why those characteristics exist, maintaining a focus on tasting and identifying wine. We will review the importance of sense, sight, smell, taste and feel, tied together to create a building block to lead the taster to identifying key attributes in the wine. We will also cover the region, terroir/vines and wine making. The general format will include a tasting of two whites to start and then two reds…all four tasted blind. The thrust of the blind, comparative tasting is to highlight how a single varietal can vary so greatly. The last two wines will be a food pairing (tasted blind to make it extra fun).

Your instructor for the evening is a well traveled wine enthusiast with lots of drinking and wine experience. David doesn’t hold any wine eductaor certificates, however, his love for wine fuels his passion. David led our successful wine series class, Seven Steps to Enjoying Wine, for the past three years. Together, we morphed the Seven Steps class to the Wine 101 class and are excited for you to join in on the fun!
