Exploring Wine Aromas

April 1 @ 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Welcome to our wine masterclass on Wine Aromas. This class is for every type of wine lover looking to expand their wine aroma vocabulary. Aromas are a major part of understanding a wine, the varietal, the climate in which it was grown and therefore its expression, and the method in which it was made. Wine aromas are strongly linked to wine flavors and taste. This is because the process of tasting includes aromas being absorbed through our area connecting our mouth to our nose, known as the retro-nasal passage.

Because wine aromas are so diverse, during this class we will allow the students to focus on their own vocabulary with a blind tasting to start. We will then review the wine description as a group and retaste the wine to see how many of the descriptors we will be able to pick up on with the guide of the description of the wine (offered by the winemaker). As a final note, we will review the charactertistics of the grapes in the wines we are tasting and connect the style of aromas to the climate, touching on how the climate and vineyard management choices may impact the wine.

This class is taught by a Wine and Spirits Education Trust Level 4 Diploma candidate and French Wine Scholar Graduate with 14 years experience in the industry as a wine buyer, wine judge, and wine educator.

These classes are non-refundable. Missed classes may be transferred to the following class within the same Unit.

Wine Club Memberships Accepted. To register for the wine club to receive two free masterclass entries per month, visit our website for options on the wine club memberships: https://corkandfork.co/wine-club/
