Foundations Unit: Intro to Wine
February 28 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm
Welcome to the Foundations Unit for Wine. During this one hour class, we will touch on the key elements of wine: the vine’s life-cycle, the concept of terroir, the importance of wine law, the dominant grape varieties, the winemaking process, and key styles of wine. During class, we will taste four wines to demonstrate the major wine styles: sparkling, dry white, dry red, and dessert.
This class is a great introduction to wine and also serves as a terrific refresher for those who are getting back into wine. To see if this class is for you, here is a self-assessment quiz: score a 80% or higher and you’re ready to move onto our “Understanding Varietals and Blending” classes.
This class is taught by a Wine and Spirits Education Trust Level 3 Level 4 Diploma candidate and French Wine Scholar Graduate with 14 years experience in the industry as a wine buyer and educator.
These classes are non-refundable. Missed classes may be transferred to the following class within the same Unit.
