Understanding Stylistic and Regional Blends

April 25 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Welcome to Wine Blends, a class all about wrapping our palates around the art of wine blending. During this one hour class, we will review the importance of blends for sustainability in the vineyard, the impact harvests play on a blend, the characteristics of grapes, and the role they play in blends. We will taste through a selection of four wines to emphasize the key points covered, such as regional tipicity and winemaker interference, or lack thereof.

This class is a solid building block for all interested in wine, regardless of appreciation level. To ensure all attendees are sufficiently challenged, the wines will be tasted without noting their place of origin, grape composition, or vintage year. After discussion, each wine will be revealed.

For fun, here is a quiz on blends. Please note this is not a self-assessment quiz.

This class is taught by a Wine and Spirits Education Trust Level 4 Diploma candidate and French Wine Scholar Graduate with 14 years experience in the industry as a wine buyer and educator.

These classes are non-refundable. Missed classes may be transferred to the following class within the same Unit.
