Ceretto, Langhe Arneis (2014)

Great summer wine. Rediscovered 60 years ago by one of the members of the Vietti family. The delicate nose of white peaches, nectarines and soft citrus is an invitation to relax and enjoy. The mouth is more elegant than powerful and the stone fruit is complemented by almonds a generous minerality. The texture of this wine reminds you of a good Viognier, and coats the tongue beautifully.

Food Pairing:Perfect to just sip in the shade in the afternoon, or to serve with white fish, white meats, and the favorite in Piemonte: Vitello Tonnato.

Winery:Riccardo Ceretto, hailing from Valdivilla (hamlet of Santo Stefano Belbo), founded the Ceretto Casa Vinicola in Alba in the 30s. In the 60s, Bruno and Marcello, the sons of Riccardo, selected and purchased vineyards in the Langhe and Roero, including some of the best Barolo and Barbaresco cru for making and marketing their wines. ‘We believe in the land hundred percent, the winery is obviously important, but great wines are made with great grapes.’
